about

First song off of 'Wavey Daze.'

The song introduces the listener to the diverse and fluid textures/themes/voices/sounds that are inherent in the ocean, many of which I seek to explore in this EP. It starts with a build of tension which resolves in a way that is emblematic of hitting open water after being trapped in a cistern, or in our case being leg-walkers, the trap of being landlocked.

The song releases and carries the listener out to sea with a gigantic watery bass. My own voice discusses this euphoria of release, and the listener witnesses two ocean inherent entities from the opposite coasts of the US - one is the voice of a west coast surfer bro and the other is a crab living the Boston Harbor.

The song climaxes by claiming "I am not afraid to let the waves carry me away," and this is an invitation to the listener as well to ditch the fear of the oceans furies and float willfully through a watery world.

lyrics

The cistern, the cavern, where everything is so radiant blue.

(yuh so i was living the wave life, the spray of the water at midnight, crystal gaze in my site, i said alright!)

Maybe I could live this life, far away from the strife.

(yup so i was a crab at the bottom, i scuttled around til I saw them, the divers that silently caught them - the dolphins)

I am not afraid to let the waves carry away. I am not afraid to carry away.
